The Kipling CD

Recently, the boys of Kipling celebrated the exceptional musical talent in the house by releasing a CD. We have included one of the 17 tracks online for you to listen to for free. Click Here to listen and read more!

What is a CP?

CPs are College Prefects. All college prefects are appointed by the Master. All of them are part of the prefect team and have special positions of trust and responsibility within the school. It is expected of all Prefects that they will uphold the ethos and values of the school, that they will show initiative and that they will take the lead on major formal occasions throughout the year.

Each housemaster nominates a pupil to be the Head of House. These pupils are then appointed as College Prefects by the Master and become members of the CP team. Their role is to provide leadership of the pupil body within their House and to set the tone in accordance with the ethos of the school. Heads of House work closely with their HM to promote the welfare of the pupils in the House. In addition, they may be asked to support whole school events in a variety of roles.

As well as the Heads of House, Haileyury appoints a number of other pupils to fulfil specific whole school roles. Almost always, Kipling has at least one other CP in addition to the HoH.

Henry Hickman

Kipling Head of House - HENRY HICKMAN

Henry Hickman is Head of House for 2009-2010 and follows in the tradition of Kipling all rounders. Arriving in Haileybury's Lower School six years ago, Henry is now an A level student with Engineering aspirations at university after leaving school. Meanwhile, of course, there remains much for Henry to do at Haileybury, where he hopes for a place in the XXX this coming rugby season, following sterling work in a number of school teams throughout his lower sixth year. Henry is also a saxophonist, having recently returned from a school Jazz and Choir tour of Venice. Henry's prefect team in Kipling includes no fewer than five College Prefects.

Oliver Phillpott

College Prefect and Second Head of School - OLIVER PHILLPOTT

Oliver Phillpott follows Marcus Farnfield as one of the school's four Senior College Prefects, as Second Head of School. Like our Head of House, Henry Hickman, Oliver is also a product of our Lower School and he has enjoyed real academic distinction since those early days. Oliver hopes to read Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge once the small matter of A levels and the duties of office have been attended to! Oliver was elected Chair of the School Senate last year and has helped promote the work of this student-led council. A keen debater and sportsman, Oliver is also known for his thought-provoking views on a range of subjects.
